Ms. Murphy is of Counsel in New York to d’Arcambal Ousley & Cuyler Burk LLP (“DO&CB”).

Ms. Murphy brings nearly two decades of experience using a high level of legal acumen and sound business analysis to advise clients on employment and labor matters. Ms. Murphy works collaboratively with clients to address the lifecycle of employment matters including: assessing and mitigating litigation risks; negotiating and drafting severance agreements: reviewing and drafting employment handbooks; hosting independent investigations; serving as an EEO monitor; and providing guidance on federal, state and local regulations and compliance. Ms. Murphy has successfully negotiated wage and hour class actions, settlements for alleged sexual harassment, whistleblowing, retaliation, wage and hour, age discrimination and ADA matters in California, New York, and Washington D.C.

In 2010, Ms. Murphy founded the Murphy Group CNY, PLLC, a full-service legal and public relations firm representing small businesses, largely in the restaurant and hospitality industries. She has successfully represented, advocated on behalf of and defended clients in State and Federal agencies including the New York State Department of Labor, Washington D.C. Human Right Commission, the Washington D.C. Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, and the Federal Trade Commission. Additionally, Ms. Murphy provides comprehensive litigation support on a broad range of issues including labor and employment, healthcare, transportation, energy, and homeland security. Ms. Murphy has represented a variety of clients from small business owners, nonprofits, investors, and individual litigants.

Prior to the Murphy Group, Ms. Murphy served as a lobbyist and consultant to Hall & Associates LLC. Ms. Murphy guided clients through public policy and regulatory hurdles on a broad range of issues including health care, transportation and infrastructure, energy, labor and homeland security. In 2004, Ms. Murphy served as a Research Assistant for Professor. Aaron Twerski, a leading scholar on torts and products liability. She was acknowledged in “Uncertainty and Informed Choice Unmasking Daubert” Margaret A. Berger & Aaron Twerski. 104 Mich. L. Rev. 257 for her research contributions in developing a plaintiff’s cause of action for informed consent.
